The Champions League is often viewed as the pinnacle of club football and is a competition that carries such prestige. Last season Paris Saint-Germain became just the second team of the modern era to retain the trophy after beating Arsenal on penalties in the final. With qualifying now complete, we know the 36 teams who will compete in the 2026/27 Champions League league phase, with the draws for the fixtures taking place this Thursday. Here at Transfermarkt, we have ranked all 36 teams by their current squad value as of August 27.

The full list of the 36 teams in order can be scrolled through above. The current most valuable team in the Champions League (and this could change before the transfer window closes) is holders PSG - who have a squad value of €1.48 billion. In second are 15-time winners Real Madrid with a squad value of €1.46b. Last term's finalists Arsenal are third with a €1.45b squad value. In fourth are Manchester City with a €1.33b squad value.



Barcelona complete the top five with a squad worth €1.28b. The sixth most valuable team in this season's Champions League are German giants Bayern Munich with a squad value of €1.08b. Seventh goes to Liverpool who have a current squad worth €963 million. Their North-West rivals Manchester United are eighth with a €929m squad value. Ninth place goes to Inter Milan (€747m), with Atlético Madrid (€653m) 10th.


When it comes to the other end of the scale, the least valuable squad goes to Azerbaijani outfit Sabah FK, who were only formed in 2017 and have a squad value of just €17m. The second least valuable squad goes to Slovan Bratislava with a €35m squad value. The third least most valuable squad is that of Austrian side LASK, who shocked Celtic with a 5-1 turnaround, and have a squad value of €44m.
